We Love Dirty Cars

At least we love dirty cars in Plymouth today. The Super Center is donating $2 per car wash today. It is amazing to find the generosity of people who are happy to help us!

God Be in My Heart

God Be in My Heart

Heavenly Father,

Please give each of us hearts for your mission trip, for the things You will have us do, the people You will have us meet. May we give all of the glory, praise and thanks to you that only You deserve. Help us to hold in our hearts Your plan, and not our own agendas.

But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul." Joshua 22: 5

God Be in Our Hearts.

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
From the inside out, O my soul cries out
- Hillsong United

Whatever we accomplish on this trip Lord, may we focus our hearts on You, that Your work, Your kingdom, and Your truth will shine out through our words, our hands, our
bodies.
Amen

We Love Bead Soup!

Pics from a great bead soup party last night. Girls of all ages came out to support us and our mission trip. We enjoyed visiting with old friends and making new friends too.

This is serious. No, this is fun. Serious fun!

Don't you love when different generations come together in a project?

Prayer needs:
  • Praise God for the support the women in our congregation are giving us. They say it takes a village, but for us it takes a congregation. Blessings for those wonderful girls and women.
  • continued support raising
  • team building
Thank you!

First Look at Our Rooms

We have photos from Sheila of the rooms we will be working in when we are at The Hangar. There are several small bedrooms. Room #1. Looks a little bit like a hospital room.

The other side of room #1. Do you love that bed???

Room #2.

Room #3. Nice rug, we will use it as the room centerpiece.
The rooms are nice, maybe they just could use a little color.

This room is in the basement and our challenge is to turn it into a playroom for kids. It looks like it is a good size. It could probably use some color and some kid stuff.

Could be a fun game room, don't you think? With the addition of some shelves or storage space...and games and puzzles and books!

Prayer needs:
  • That we will raise our support quickly and get our airline tickets paid for.
  • We will book several bead soup parties from our first party tomorrow night.
  • Team unity.
Thank you all!

God Be Here and Now

God be here and now.

Heavenly Father as we have been called to do Your work, it is so important for us to have a strong connection to You. Listening, hearing, and understanding Your will for this trip should not be a part time engagement.

God be here and now in our days.

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will in you in Christ Jesus."
I Thessalonians 5: 16-18

It is Your will for us to pray without ceasing, being joyful and thankful in all circumstances. Lord, when the Holy Spirit prompts us, may we immediately come to you with that prayer, not saving a list of prayers for a more prayerful or quieter time. Please bring us contentment through constant prayer. May this become a life long habit that brings blessings and joy and that strong connection always.

God be here and now all our lives.

Amen

God Be in My Head

We are adopting this song as our prayer during our preparation for our trip. It is a hymn written in 1538 by Sarum Primer, who probably had no idea that it would be inspiring us and helping us prepare for our trip to Germany in 2010. There is a current version with adapted words and music available on iTunes by Jared Anderson. It will stick in your head.

The original lyrics from 1538, written by Sarum Primer:
God be in my head, and in my understanding;
God be in mine eyes, and in my looking;
God be in my mouth, and in my speaking;
God be in my heart, and in my thinking;
God be at mine end, and at my departing.

The adapted words by Jared Anderson:
God be in my head and in my understanding
God be in my eyes God be in my looking
God be in my mouth God be in my speaking
God be in my heart God be in my thinking
God be in my step God be in my breath

God be in my head
God be in my eyes
God be in my heart
God be in my life

God be in my mouth
God be in my hands
God be all I want
Beginning and the end

God be in my hands God be in my reaching
God be in my soul God be in my seeking
God be in my days God be in my wanderings
God be in my mind God be all consuming
God be all around God be here and now

God be in my step God be in my breath
God be all around God be here and now

Prayer for Today, please pray with us:

God Be in My Head

Dear Father, please be in our heads as we prepare for this trip to which you have called us. There is much planning, organizing, communicating, and working to be done so we are ready to go. I pray that in the center of it all, is You. That you are in our heads, showing us Your plans....Your plans that are already in place....Your perfect plans that we have but to follow....Your plans that go way beyond anything we can plan ourselves. Be in our heads directing our thoughts, our prayers, our creativity... to You, helping us to understand and follow.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen
to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart."
Jeremiah 29: 11-13

Lord, may we seek You daily in preparations for Your plan.
Amen

Stir the Soup!

Let the bead soup parties begin! As we did last year, we will be offering bead soup parties as a way to raise financial support and spread the word about our mission trip.

What is a bead soup party, you ask? It is a fun party with a giant soup pot full of beads. Your guests pick out the beads they like. We teach everyone to make a bracelet, and they make it themselves! Each person leaves with a custom designed, none like it anywhere else, bracelet....or two.....or three. Each bracelet costs $10. Proceeds go to the mission trip.

We are scheduling now! If you are interested, leave a comment and we will get back to you asap.

Our Hosts

Meet the Nielsons, Roger and Sheila. They are the directors at the Hangar. I have only spent a few minutes chatting with Sheila so far, but already I sense a heart for the air force personnel so far from home. The Nielsons run The Hangar as a hospitality house.

I am looking forward to meeting them in person, getting to know them a bit, and finding out how we can assist with their needs.

Prayer request:
- The Nielsons and continued successful operation of the The Hangar

Blessings!
